Creation of the Universe – Day Six of God’s Creation

Creation of the Universe – Day Six of God’s Creation

  • Genesis 1:24-25, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and the creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

Creation of the Universe: God created the creeping things. The sixth day of God’s creation begins with the creation of the beasts of the earth. (Genesis 1:24-25) Again God announces that everything will bring forth after his own kind. There is no blurring of lines with God.

The witness of God’s creation of the universe is all around us in nature. Cross-bred animals of unlike kind cannot have offspring. The best example of this fact is the mule. The mule is a cross between a horse and a donkey. It cannot reproduce and bear children. God’s word stands true today as always.

Creation of the Universe: God Creates Man in His Own Image

  • Genesis 1:26-27, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, Creation of the Universe Day 6: God created man in his image.and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

It is the sixth day that God declares that he makes man in his image, after his likeness. (Genesis 1:26-27) On day one God declares his triune nature by identifying himself as “the face of the deep,” (the Father), the “Spirit of God,” (the Holy Ghost), and “the face of the waters,” (Jesus Christ, the Son of God). He also creates man a triune being with body, soul, and spirit. What an honor to be created in the image of God!

  • Genesis 1:28, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

God, who created every thing in a distinct order, gave man dominance over everything on earth. He included the fish, fowls, and creatures of the earth. Man did not gain dominance because of a process of natural selection because he developed thumbs or some other ridiculous explanation. He was given dominance by God himself. Man was created to rule over the earth under God’s grace and direction.

  • Genesis 1:29-31, And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of the tree yielding seed; to you it will be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

God provided everything that man and animal needed to survive before he created mankind. He created the earth and the seas, he provided the atmosphere, he provided light and heat, and he provided food for all creatures. Nothing was left to chance. The very structure and order of the universe prove the creation of the universe was a planned and structured event. All things were provided by a benevolent Creator.

God’s principle of separation and protection is evident every where in the creation. God even states that nothing can be added to or taken away from God’s creation. (Ecclesiastes 3:14) It is interesting to note that science agrees with the Bible. Remember, the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics, (upon which physics is built), supports the fact that nothing can be added to or taken from creation. (Not the God needs man’s science to reveal himself.)

God’s final pronouncement on his creation is that it is very good, and I for one am in complete agreement. (Not that God needs my approval.)
