Faith Toward God – What is the Work of God? –
Faith Toward God – What must I do to do the work of God?
I have asked different people this question countless times and have been given many
different answers. Where does a person find the answer?
- John 6:29, “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
- John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
- Romans 1:16-17, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
Simply stated, the Work of God is to believe in Jesus Christ. It is faith in Jesus Christ that brings eternal life to all that repent.
Faith Toward God: How do I increase my faith in Jesus Christ?
- Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
- John 8:31, “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Faith increases by continuing in the word of God, the Bible. A Christian cannot grow in Christ unless he reads the Bible.
- I Peter 2:2, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
So we see that the Work of God is to believe in Jesus Christ, and faith in Jesus increases by reading the word of God, the Bible.
In Christ
