Is the Bible the Word of God
Is the Bible the Word of God: Wasn’t It Written By Men?
Is the Bible the Word of God? Wasn’t it written by men? What is so special about the Bible?
Many times while witnessing I have been asked. “You don’t really believe the Bible is the Word of God do you? After all, wasn’t it written by men?”
My answer of course is, “Yes, the Bible is the written word of God.”
“Well, how do you explain fallible men writing the infallible Word of God?” they ask.
Is the Bible the Word of God: An Illustration
I use the following illustration:
Samuel Clemens,( Mark Twain), picked up his pencil and spent many hours writing the book, Tom Sawyer.
I then ask, “Who gets credit for writing the book, Tom Sawyer? Samuel Clemens or the pencil?”
The answer is almost invariably, “Samuel Clemens, Duh.”
Of course the answer is obvious. The thoughts and ideas were those of Samuel Clemens. The pencil was just a tool in his hand. Nobody ever heard of “Tom Sawyer” by No. 2 medium lead pencil.
Is the Bible the Word of God: All Scripture
It’s the same with the Bible. II Timothy 3:16 states, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
It is evident from the above scripture that the Bible expresses the thoughts and ideas of God. Men were simply the tools in God’s hand, much as a pencil was a tool in Samuel Clemens’ hand.
II Peter 1:21 confirms II Timothy 3:16 by stating, “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
Is the Bible the Word of God: Yes
It is evident by the scriptures that the Bible is the Word of God…but that’s not all… there is Scientific Proof the Bible is the word of God.
