Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: Are There Scientific Proofs of Bible Truth?

I am always amused when I’m told that the Bible is not relevant for today’s world. I usually ask, “What makes you think the Bible isn’t relevant for today?” A friend of mine asked me the other day, ” Can you give me any scientific proof of Bible Truths?” “How many proofs do you want?” I asked. “Ten,” he said. “Here’s seventeen:”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #1

• Ecclesiastes 3:14 states, “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.”

The First Law of Thermodynamics supports the fact that nothing can be added to or taken from creation. It states, “that energy can be gained or lost in chemical processes — shifted from one to another — but it can’t be created or destroyed. Income and expenditure of energy have to balance.” (Exploring the Way Life Works, Hoagland, Dodson, Hauck, p92, 2001)

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth:#2

• Isaiah 51:6 states, “Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.”

The Second Law of Thermodynamics supports the fact that heaven and earth shall wear out. It states, “energy inevitably disperses, dissipates, scatters — that is, it is transformed from more usable forms such as photons and bonds to a less usable form, namely heat. The tendency of energy to disperse, and of ordered structures to become disordered, is called entropy, and physicists say that the entropy of the universe is increasing.” (Exploring the Way Life Works, Hoagland, Dodson, Hauck, p92, 2001)

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #3

The Bible indicates the use of atomic materials in creation.

• Hebrews 11:3 “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #4

The Bible reveals the jet stream centuries before its scientific discovery.

• Ecclesiastes 1:6 “The wind goeth toward the south and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #5

The prophecy of Jesus made 2,000 years ago has literally has been fulfilled.

• Mark 13:10 “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #6

Archaeological evidence at digs at Ur, Fara, and Kish reveal a layer of clean water laid clay between remains of ancient civilizations that are clear evidence of a Biblical Flood. This layer of clay proves that there was a cataclysmic flood of long duration that completely separates pre-flood civilization and post-flood civilization.

“Calvary” is Latin, and “Golgotha” is Hebrew for skull. According to scripture this is where Jesus Christ was crucified. This place still exists today outside of Jerusalem.

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #8

In 1881, General Christian Gordon found a garden at the base of Skull Hill where Jesus was crucified. He set his men to digging and under 5 feet of rubble he found what is now called the Garden Tomb. This tomb is empty and fits the exact description in every aspect, of the tomb where Jesus was laid and rose again from the grave! A nearby vault bears the inscription, “Buried Near My Lord.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #9

The Jewish people themselves are living proof of the Bibles authenticity. On the one hand are the volumes of archaeological evidence that prove the accuracy of the Jewish people’s history as given by the scriptures. On the other hand, the realization of prophecy of the return of the Jewish people to Israel, made over 2,000 years ago.

• Isaiah 43:5-7, “Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth. Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: # 10 Christians are also living proof of the authenticity of the Bible.

• Isaiah 42:5-6, “Thus saith God the lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth and that cometh out of it; he that giveth breath, unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people for a light of the Gentiles.”
• Isaiah 49-6, “And he said it is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel; I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #11 Other observed phenomena of science have been stated by the Bible thousands of years before their scientific discoveries.

• The Bible reveals the “open firmament” in which birds can fly. (Genesis 1:20) This distinction reveals the difference between “open firmament,” or earth’s atmosphere, and the “firmament of Heaven,” (Genesis 1:8) or outer space, long before man’s ability to make such a distinction.

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #12 The principle of plants producing after their own kind is demonstrated by hybrids. Hybrid plants, (the cross-breeding of plants),cannot produce seed that can reproduce. That’s why seedless grapes are seedless. God’s Word stands true today and is evident in nature.

• Genesis 1:9-13,”…And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #13

Again God announces that everything will bring forth after his own kind. There is no blurring of lines with God. Again, I find it amazing that God gives us an example of his word in nature. Cross-breed animals of unlike kind cannot have offspring. The best example of this is the mule. It is a cross between a horse and a donkey. It cannot have children. God’s word stands true today as ever.

• Genesis 1:24-25, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #14

In a scientific experiment in1864 Louis Pasteur, (known as the father of micro-biology), proved that life must come from life.

• Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

A popular belief in Louis Pasteur’s day was Spontaneous Generation. This belief was based on the assumption that decaying matter could spawn living matter. In four simple experiments Pasteur proved that life must come from life. The experiments were simple but profound. Only when the broth came in contact with outside organisms could organisms grow on the inside of the flasks. The results scientifically prove that life must come from life. The results have not been refuted to this day.

One biology text book that espouses evolution states his research this way: “To maintain it, life must always come from life, flowing from generation to generation in an unbroken chain (except at its beginning on Earth four billion years ago.)” Exploring the Way Life Works The Science of Biology, Mahlon Hoagland, Bert Dodson, Judy Hauck, Jones and Bartlett Publishers. p. 140.

It is amazing that those who preach evolution could disregard scientific proof to espouse their own opinions.

Note: Items 12, 13, and 14 are a death kneel for Evolution and the Big Bang theories. The inability of life to form from nonliving matter renders Evolution and the Big Bang Theory impossible. Add to that the inability of plant and animal life to transition from one form to another and both theories must be considered religions instead of science.

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #15

In recent years scientists have discovered water vapor in outer space. This is was shown in the Bible thousands of years before man’s ability to discover water vapor in heaven.

• Jeremiah 51:16, “When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in heaven…”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #16

The Bible shows the rain is made from evaporation.

• Jeremiah 51:16, “…he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth.”

Scientific Proof of Bible Truth: #17

Although it is well known that religious authorities in past centuries assumed the earth was flat…God through his word, the Bible shows that the earth is round.

• Isaiah 40:22, “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth…”

The above proofs are according to physics, microbiology, archeology, meteorology, astronomy, botany, biology, and fulfilled bible prophecy. Although this is a short list of outside proof of the Bible’s authenticity, there is literally an endless supply of proof. God has given plenty of proof of his truthfulness through the scriptures.
