Seven Churches of Revelations in the Bible
Seven Churches of Revelations in the Bible – A Concern
I am concerned when I am told no one can understand the Book of Revelations. On the contrary God wants every child of God to know and understand his word. Oh, none of us will have perfect knowledge until Jesus returns for his people, but the Lord gave us his written word, the Bible, so we can know and understand him.
- Revelations 1:3, “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this
prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”
Seven Churches of Revelations in the Bible – Understanding Through Jesus
God fully expects Christians to understand his word through Jesus Christ, but without Jesus it is impossible to understand the word. Seeking Jesus is the key to understanding any scriptures including those contained in Revelations. God’s word confirms this by stating, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ…” in the beginning of the book of Revelations.
- John 5:39-40, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.”
Seven Churches of Revelations in the Bible – A Relationship with Jesus
The seven churches of Revelations, (Revelations chapters 2 and 3), are a revealing of Jesus and his relationship with his bride, the church. Jesus instructs every church in the same manner. He uses a set format of instruction for all seven churches. The format of his instruction is as follows:
