The Trinity of God – Understanding the Son: Part 3

The Trinity of God – Understanding the Son of God: Jesus Christ

The Trinity of God – The Son of God: God’s Body

Just as God, who created man in his own image, gave man a body, so also God has The Trinity of God - Understanding the Son: Jesus Christchosen to reveal himself through his body.

The Trinity of God – The Son of God: Face of the Waters

This side of the trinity of God is first revealed in the Holy Bible as “The face of the waters,” in Genesis 1:2.

  • Genesis 1:2, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

Revelation 1:15 reveals Jesus as the face of the waters.

  • Revelation 1:15, “And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”

The Trinity of God – The Son of God: Jesus is the Word

I John 5:7 reveals this personality of trinity of God as the “Word.”

  • I John 5:7, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
  • John 1:1-5, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
  • John 1:9-14 continues, “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world wa made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
  • John 17-18 continues, “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”

It is evident that the second personality of the trinity of God, the Word, becomes flesh and is embodied in the person Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is in the face of Jesus that God reaches out to sinful man. It is only through Jesus Christ that man can have fulfillment and communion with God.

The Trinity of God – The Son of God: Jesus is the Fullness of the Godhead Bodily

  • Colosians 2:6-9, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”
  • II Corinthians 4:3-6 confirms, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

The Trinity of God – The Son of God: Jesus the Express Image of God

The book of Hebrews shows Jesus as the body of the trinity of God even more clearly.

  • Hebrews 1:1-3, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”

All that can be known or understood of the trinity of God must be seen in the face of Jesus Christ, in whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily!
